Oh Badminton!

YONEX SUNRISE HONG KONG SUPER SERIES 2008

One of the highlights during my visit to Hong Kong was attending the quarter final session of the Yonex-Sunrise HK Open. Managed to get a very good seat in the middle near the front and watched the best game of the session - a mixed double match between South Korea's pair, Yong Dae LEE and Hyo Jung LEE, playing against China's Han Bin HE and Yang F YU.

The Korea pair lost the first game by 11-21, but somehow managed to come back and won the last two 21-16 and 21-12. After this match, they eventually got through to the final but beaten by the Chinese pair, Zhongbo XIE and Yawen ZHANG.

Unfortunately I didnt get to watch any of the English players in action...

Watching in person is by far better than watching the games on telly! You could see how the players use the depth of the courts better and the atmosphere was great! May be I should get some tickets for the English National Badminton Championships or Yonex All England Open 2009... blimey... have you seen the prices?!
